It is with great sadness to announce Ronald Alsberry Gracy who was born February 3, 1936, at home in Ringgold, Georgia passed away at home on the morning of April 16, 2024. He lived a full life of service: He served in the United States Navy for 22 years followed by a teaching career at Lakeview Middle School. During these two careers, showing by example his belief in the importance of education, he earned two additional Masters’ degrees (one in communication, one in education). Not yet finished with his life of helping others he served a term as a Catoosa County commissioner, supervised Meals on Wheels in the northwest Georgia area as well as a Deacon in the very church he grew up in – Burning Bush Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his older brother Thed Lewis Gracy and his parents Edgar and Henrietta Gracy. He left behind his wife of nearly 65 years Joyce Gracy, three sons – John, Ron, and Paul as well as six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and his sister Sarah Hutelin.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Friday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Dennis McNulty officiating. Interment will follow at the Burning Bush Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 2-4 PM Friday at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
